WPTA Digital 21-3

This is more properly a TV question; but in the past week I've tuned in a "WPTA-3" through my DTV converter box showing just a black screen and silence, no tone, bars or anything. And all the program info I see is "Channel testing."

Anyone know what WPTA plans to do with this subchannel? I'm hoping they put on the RTN network...

Most likey, i think it will be ABC News Now or RTN

me personaly, I hope its RTN

but, if they do go with ABC News Now, RTN Will be picked up by WANE or WFFT

:)

21.3 had been running weather radar/forecast until a couple of months ago. Is that supposed to be coming back or not? I'd rather see News Now or especially RTN, but I won't hold my breath.

As of yesterday (June 24) WPTA 21-3 has been running their Vipir HD radar, ACTUALLY in HD. 16x9 looks good. But on my little Sylvania, with the "squeeze" feature on the Zenith converter box, it looks really good in 4x3.

The only thing I wish they could do is to "split" the signal (WPTA and WANE both) so when they're doing live shots, on newscasts and such, the straight weather channel is still running JUST the radar. But I think that takes a second receiver system, and that's not cheap kids...
