WPTF/WSJS lose Limbaugh

Re: Hey! No peeking!

So much for that http://RushRadio945.com web site, eh?

Maybe their deal with that TBA show fell through...

Interesting...if I remember they really only had Beck, Rush and Hannity locked in on the schedule. Why would they pull the site and make it look like this? Was there a breach of exclusivity in the use of Rush and Hannity's images for another station that CC tried with the site?

I hate to see Limbaugh's hatetalk polute the FM band.

This is only my opinion, but the FM band is already polluted. Speaking of hate/talk, maybe some enterprising owner can put on Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. They would do a great morning show.

What do you all think the chances are of WPTF/WSJS picking up The Midnight Trucking Network? It's a decent show. It's better than repeats of the previous day's shows all night (Coast to Coast is definitely leaving WSJS, and I'd assume 680 also). 85 is a big truck road.

Rush gets ratings, but he also alienates a huge portion of the potential audience.

What is Bill Loomay going to do now if he can't just parrot what Rush says each day?

PTF should piss everybody off and put on Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Rev/Dr. Barber...angry black talkers all day.

And let's not forget that minister who raised a big stink about Duke's mascot ("The Devil's in Durham!")...

Via Twitter: Rush 94.5 website has gone live. 2010 is the date on it. http://www.rushradio945.com/main.html

Interesting what happens if you go to www.rushradio1061.com. Somebody at Highwoods is on the ball.
They did the same thing when RDU went country in 2006; therooster1061.com and 1061therooster.com both pointed to 94.7 QDR. That is why CC had to settle for roostercountry1061.com. Of course, now that they've "countrified" the old name, they've since gone back to the original 1061rdu.com address...

So.... WPTF... What do you fill 12-5am with....repeats of talk shows from the previous day?

Only late-night personalities I know of other than the Trucker are Joey Reynolds and Brother Stair.

If Premier has done this to WPTF and WSJS, I wonder if they're planning something similar in Charlotte with WBT? If they DID pull Rush from WBT, they would likely put him on WBCN 1660, which might be a bit risky.

I doubt it due to the fact CBS owns 1660 rather than CC.

Meanwhile, a CBS station in Hartford owns the rights to Rush, as well as Hannity (who is buried in the overnights). CC owns some FM stations in Hartford, as well. Hmmm...

... has WSJS and WPTF carried Rush from the beginning? Or how long? If either are a "heritage" Rush station, this is really throwing the middle finger at 'em.

According to a write-up from today's News & Observer, WPTF is indeed "one of the first" Limbaugh affiliates starting in 1988:
http://www.newsobserver.com/business/story/174083.html

Reading the article, I wonder what John Murawski's lean is. Not only does he refer to the "nine-hour marathon of conservative talk" that will soon air on 106.1 FM, but there is a glaring typo of one of the hosts that make up said "marathon of conservative talk"...
