WPTR 1540AM

According to fccinfo.com, Empire Broadcasting owns WPTR-1240 in Schenectady. AFAIK, Crawford (Jr) still owns WDCD-1540 in Albany. And 1540 remains off the air.
 
I supervised WPTR / WFLY for Rust Communications in the mid to late 70s. WPTR was still relevant and Top 40, we would win one book, WTRY the next. Some of the talent Jim Harrington, Rob Cunningham, Shotgun Johnny Ringo. FM was coming of age so we converted WFLY from Drake Chenault to Top 40, hired Don Schaeffer to program and Bob Mason, FLY came out of the box with a 10 share. Promoted Ausfeld to GM. It was great fun!
