WPXT 51.2 is now Me-TV (Memorable Entertainment Television),

Just OTA. Maybe if enough people badger TWC et al to pick it up they will, but they're under no legal obligation to do so.

We launched Me-TV earlier this month as an over-the-air channel. Since then we've had an initial meeting with the local Time Warner people. That went well. Now the Me-TV people in NY are setting up a meeting with the Time Warner regional people (Syracuse) to talk about the channel and see if we can get carriage on the digital tier where Time Warner carries the other subchannels.

Time Warner carries Me-TV in a few other markets, most notably, Milwaukee, where Me-TV beats the Fox, CW and My Network affiliates in a number of time periods. Given the fact that Maine has the oldest population of any state and that Me-TV targets "oldsters" then it seems like a logical fit for the market. It's a free channel (there is no out-of-pocket cost to Time Warner to carry it), and, we will promote the daylights out of the fact that it is on Time Warner...urging viewers to watch the channel on Time Warner's digital tier.

We've had a great relationship with Time Warner over the years and we're hoping that they will be excited about adding a great new channel to their line-up!

Here's this coming fall's MyNetworkTV schedule:

Monday
8:00- 9:00 p.m. --- “Law & Order: SVU”
9:00- 10:00 p.m. --- “Law & Order: SVU”

Tuesday
8:00- 9:00 p.m. --- “Cold Case”
9:00- 10:00 p.m. --- “Cold Case”

Wednesday
8:00- 9:00 p.m. --- “Burn Notice”
9:00- 10:00 p.m. --- “Burn Notice”

Thursday
8:00- 9:00 p.m. --- “Without a Trace”
9:00- 10:00 p.m. --- “Without a Trace”

Friday
8:00- 9:00 p.m. --- “Monk”
9:00- 10:00 p.m. --- “Monk”

With a program schedule this weak maybe Me-TV should be on 35.1 instead!

You're talking about "MY" the thread is about "ME". two different networks.

To add to the confusion even more, 35 WPME (the station newsbot originally referenced) is a MyNet affiliate, so they could be a Me and My Net affiliate, but last I knew WPME had a decent syndicated line up, so no need to blow up the established MyNet affiliate.

What about MetroCast. I would really love to have it as a digital cable channel.

Also Comcast, Bee Line, etc. My original point was that I think Me-TV is good enough for a main channel; no need to relegate it to subchannel or digital-cable-only status. Unfortunately, ageism is alive and well in ad sales, even though every argument against targeting upper demos has been demolished by comprehensive research. Terry O'Reilly addressed this issue in the latest Age of Persuasion:

Metrocast and Comcast receive their signals from Time Warner so before Metrocast and Comcast can put us on their systems, we need to be on the Time Warner system. That is our first agenda. Once we have worked out something with Time Warner then we will contact both Metrocast and Comcast and see if they will carry Me-TV.

We have had a lot of positive response from the Me-TV "sampler" that we are running on Saturday and Sunday evenings on WPME (6-8PM). Phone calls and email have come in supporting the programming and asking for details on how to see more of it. David Munster's TV on Forest Avenue is now promoting the fact that they install TV antennas and offer turnkey packages to get homes wired for OTA reception. We've sent a number of callers to David's business.

As someone pointed out, our syndicated line-up on WPME continues to improve. We'll be adding 30 Rock this fall from 7-8PM. My Network TV just made a 3-year commitment to their prime time programming so I don't think there will be any changes there.

Thanks,
Doug

Stellar news on the syndicated line-up. We love 30 Rock. Good show.

Curious about other stuff this fall:
Ray & Ted
The Night Show
King of Queens (even though it is on TBS as well, I can't get enough of that show)
Late Night Republic

Will these continue? Really enjoy watching all of them.

Sorry for bumping this thread but I just wanted to add that Metrocast Sanford area launched Me-TV Portland on channel 299 yesterday. This basically happened with no warning because metrocast.com had said nothing about a new channel and still doesn't. Can anyone with Time Warner cable Portland area confirm if they can receive Me-TV yet since the manager of WPXT said in this thread that Metrocast and Comcast can't add this channel without Time Warner adding it?

It should be noted however that in Milwaukee, Me-TV is the primary subchannel on a full-power station. (WBME-TV licensed to Racine, Wis.) It's entitled to must-carry.

(that said, Time-Warner in Milwaukee also carries independent station WMLW, which as a LPTV is NOT entitled to must-carry -- and is co-owned with Me-TV -- so they *have* had some success negotiating coverage for non-must-carry stations.)

We have MeTV here in Albany...and it's been on Time Warner since the day the station signed on...last summer.
