WQAM loses Dolphins rights

Don't let the facts get in the way, E.L. - Jicha calls himself a reporter but he doensn't have the facts straight. WQAM did not lose Goldberg, they didn't renew his contract. Big difference. Hank had his time but he was old, washed up and not relevant. And talk about not relevant, let's wonder how Neil Rogers, age 66 and not even living here was relevant now. The PPM numbers proved that to be the case.

As for the Dolphins, they are going to forgo their loption for their ast year of a contract with WQAM which paid them almost 3.5 million dollars to take it in-house. Marlins tried that and have been losing big-time in trying to sell the advertising themselves. Can't see how the Dolphins can break even, about 6 months before their first pre-season game.

Posted on Facebook about an hour ago under WIOD's page: "We are proud to announce that our sister stations 940 WINZ The Sports Animal and Big 105.9 are your new home for The Miami Dolphins"

It will be interesting whom they bring in for their announcing staff and if asked who would jump the Q-ship to join.

It will also be interesting to see how much they are paying for rights fees. Let's not forget the huge money losing John Hogan debacle in Atlanta when he "negotiated" a deal to get the Braves away from Cox. You can bet Bob Neil is STILL laughing at that and screaming "gotcha"! Then again, the management team in Miami is much stronger than the Atlanta management team was at that time.
