The Herald is reporting that Ed's last show will be on December 29th. The 'Q' will be using ESPN programming in his time slot. I had listened to Ed for a long time until I left South Florida 7 months ago. Not sure where he might end up at. Good luck Ed.
I listen to him every night in Seattle (He's on until 2am Miami time) -- so I assume the listenership just insn't there. He is very good. I've actually called him a few times.

Ed Kaplan's late-night program, the first sports talk show on WQAM (560-AM) 20 years ago, is being discontinued. Kaplan's final 10 p.m.-2 a.m. program will air Dec. 22.
Kaplan said he was told the move is solely for economic reasons. He has been offered an opportunity to remain with the station as a fill-in host. Kaplan, who is still hoping to find something full time, said he has been in contact with the market's other sports station, 790 The Ticket (WAXY).
