It would be a shame for the station to be deleted. From what I understand, It is one of the oldest stations in Mississippi, with the same call letters since 1928. Started in Utica, MS quoting cotton futures and farm related information. Hence the name "We Quote Better Cotton. Blues musician Willie Dixon was on the station along with Addrian Cronauer the inspiration behind "Good Morning Vietnam"
And I believe it was where Y-100 legend Bill Tanner began before moving to Monroe, Jackson, New Orleans and then Pittsburg and Miami.

Yep, there's where Bill Tanner got his start, along with Cramer Haas and I believe Johnny Velchoff.... of 3 also later worked at WJDX/WZZQ in Jackson.... and then later at Y-100/Miami. Cramer was production director at WJDX and Y-100... Velchoff was PD at WZZQ. Of course Tanner became head of programming for Summit Media. We lost Tanner about a year ago, Cramer died around 1990, I believe.
