WQBT and WAEV Signal

What is up with these 2 Station Signals?

I Recently had to Take a Trip out to Vidalia. I notice by the time I Reached Pembroke that 94.1 and 97.3 Signal was VERY Weak. By the time I reached Claxton they were GONE! Aren't these 100k Stations? WLVH and WTYB Had a Stronger Signal Both were Full in Pembroke and Started to Break up in Claxton Both of these are 50k stations. Since when do 50k stations out power 100k and by a longshot.

Littlebit of interesting Info: B92 WIHB Charleston Was Playing Very strong in Pembroke(stronger than 94.1 and 97.3) after getting out of Freedom 92.3 area

Work is being done to the tower that we all share with Fox 28.

B92......is always blasting!! You can hear it in Beaufort/Hilton Head.....Savannah/Coastal Empire....ANYTIME!! Day..or night!! 96 WAVE is another one....here lately I've been hearing it really clear early in the morning....anywhere in the Hilton Head/Savannah area!!!

96Wave has a CP to move to the big ch 5 stick in Charleston. If they've already moved, this is why they're an easy catch in Downtown Savannah. Their coverage will, literally, cover the entire eastern half of SC. Pick them up in Myrtle Beach and not loose them until you're in Savannah.

That'd be great. It'd be even better to pick them up all over Savannah. Plus it'd be cool to see WAVF show up on the Savannah Arbs. What a terrific alternative station.

You can pick them up no problem on a car stereo in Hilton Head...even before the CP.

I'm not sure if they built on the CP yet (any engineers out there know ???), but I could pick them up many days last year. using my Pioneer SuperTuner IIID, along with a good Walkman at nights and on a Magnum-Dynalab FT101 24/7 in Downtown Savannah. When the tropo was cranked up real high last july (my last day working in Brunswick) I picked up WAVF from Brunswick all the way back home on Oglethorpe Ave. A pretty good feat considering I was only 55 miles from WEJZ and 150 miles from WAVF's stick.

But, considering all this, if WAVF hasn't already raised their antenna, this will give them a beast of a signal...though they already have a perfectly acceptable one.

(P.S.: WIHB also has a similar application, making me think the reason why they blast all through GA (and as far north as Florence, SC!) is because they are arguably the most powerful FM's in Charleston along with WSCI and WSUY)
