WQBT Changes... Again?

What is WQBT 94.1 the beat Savannah up to now? about 10AM today a song went off and they went to about 10 airchecks in a Row then suddenly that was Dropped. Next Thing A Tapped "No Frills Mix Show" Songs Blended together with some "mixing and Scratching" no mention of in the mix or DJ Name. I had to leave the Car for a bit, then when I returned it seemed as if everthing was back to normal. But then I heard an Aircheck. "94.1 the Beat is bringing you changes, more of the best Music with Less Commercials, Stay tuned as there are more changes to come as change is good. Just don't change the station. Your #1 Station for hip-hop and R&B" (slight Pause and a strong stress on R&B).

Wonder what Changes. Are the going even more R&B? I noticed in the last Week they have played ALOT more Recurrent and Throwbacks(Gold) The Playlist even showed that as the top spins were all in the 80-90 range. the top Spin last week was 68.

I know one thing for sure they need a Morning show Wake up with Whoopi might be an option as her show is on multiple formats, her Flagship Station(WKTU NewYorK)is a mix Between a Chr/rhythmic and rhythmic AC(AKA Movin') so her show could fit on an Urban station, or as I said this MANY Times the Beat needs to go Chr/rhythmic, they have been Playing the Tracks lately.

Pack - Vans
Akon/Eminem - Smack that
Justin Timberlake - SexyBack
Fergie - London Bridge

I just hope they don't fake like they are going off the air this time.

They are not going to change to CHR because Clear Channel alredy has 97.3 KISSFM in Savannah as the CHR station

There are 2 types of CHR. CHR/Pop Which is more likely being Called Top 40 and CHR/Rhythmic Which is now being Called just Rhythmic.

97.3 Kiss FM is a CHR/Pop Or TOP 40

And Has Tracks From:
Panic at the Disco
Blue October
KT Tunstall
Hinder
Nickelback

And Leans a bit toward a Rock or Hot AC Format

A CHR/Rhythmic Has Tracks from:

Paula De Anda
Akon
Daddy Yankee
Lil Jon
Paul Wall

And Leans toward a Hip Hop or Urban Format. Some Ryhthmics play so Much Hip Hop they can be mistaken for an Urban.

both Formats do Share alot of Tracks but they are Still Different.

You can go to R&R and Pull up the Playlist for CCs WAEV CHR/Pop And then check out CCs WIBT CHR/Rythimic and you'll see the diffence.

By The Way WQBT made the change Public already Looks like Russ Parr will Start Monday Morning. After the crazy announcement that he will be on the air Bribeing People with money to stay tuned as that is the only way they can get people to listen.

I currently work for Clear Channel Savannah and while it is true that Russ Parr will be starting Monday morning, the station will not be changing formats.
