I think they might as well add the AC to their Urban format. It seems like they play hip hop ONLY During the Overnight and in Mix shops. Lately even the mix shops have been R&B Heavy.

The Playlist from R&R Shows the top 30 that they Play 23 are R&B and only 7 are hip hop and 2 of Hip hop are EXCLUSIVLY Played during the overnight hours

(2) Questions for "HTowler"

1) What time of the day did those 10 songs play? my guess is mid-afternoon.

2) Why are you counting songs on a radio station and THAT concerned? If you want your fill of Hip-Hop you can always listen to WEAS.

Final statement: Now if you ARE in radio, or really concerned about who, what, when and why; pull up mediabase in your spare time and you will see that there is a 60/40 balance of R&B to Hip-Hop records on WQBT! I looked it up myself after reading your post.

I posted right  when they played it so almost 5pm

WQBT sounded alot better when they started  And was mostly hip-hop. the ratings were even better(even thought they never topped WEAS).  I just don't understand the Continuous Softening of the Station to Almost an Urban AC  when Clear Channel already has an Urban AC with WLVH.  I see this as cannibulization of their #1 Rated Station.

BTW I did Pull a Media Base of the Station  it shows the top 50  and it was more 70/30 this week and I even Looked at Dayparting

Most of the hip-hop is Dayparted to only overnight hours

Somebody in CC I guess read the post or they did homework this is a bit better. Good Mix of both Hip hop and R&B.

Pop, Lock & Drop It (1st Time I heard this out of overnight)
Huey

Pimpin' All Over the World
Ludacris / Bobby Valentino

Irreplaceable
Beyonce

Pon De Replay

Chris Brown

Top Back
T.I. / Young Jeezy / Young Dro / B.G / Big Kuntry

Throw Some D's (Also 1st out of overnight)
Rich Boy

I Luv It
Young Jeezy

Torn
Letoya

Htowler,

You forgot to answer the second question: "Why do you care and that concerned????" Just say it! "I hate CC savannah!!!!!!!" Every once in a while you always have something negative to say about CC Savannah! Why don't you just deal with it and leave it alone? WQBT isn't "softening" the radio station! Yes the ratins were great the first book; but most NEW LAUNCHES of a new station are; take your beloved WIBT in NC! The problem with the ratings the first year for WQBT WAS! IT weighed heavily with the MALE DEMO.

If you don't know this; pay attention! Males do not generate revenue for a station! FEMALES DO! FEMALES like R&B over HIP-HOP! If you want MORE HIP-HOP listen to WEAS!
Last point! WQBT is not the station for HTOWLER! He wants more hip-hop because he is a MALE! WQBT doesn't want HTOWLER! Do something else with yourself and stop counting songs on the station, count songs on the radio group you love! CUMULUS!!!!!!

Thanks
