WQEM 101.5 in Columbiana which simulcasts WGIB has been off the air for about two weeks now. Anyone know why? I just tuned into WGIB at 91.9 and there is no mention of WQEM in the TOH ID. In the past, both stations were given during the legal ID.
Nothing has been filed noting the station is off the air, so I can only speculate that they finally realized what a waste of an allocation it is and turned it off. That, or it's off related to the issues surrounding W15AZ, which has been off the air for a long time due to loss of tower lease. It's recently begun operating via STA from the WQEM tower which is only a few miles away. So it's possible WQEM has been off for engineering work.
