WQEN PROCESSING

I listened some this morning. The highs sound great -- very airy and not as crushed as they used to be. Little else has changed to my ear.

I love the Omnia family of processors but I'm not exactly sure why The Q decided to upgrade. They were already rocking a perfectly good Omnia box and honestly, Omnia boxes are manufactured in such a way that they typically sound pretty similar, unless you go with a highly customized setting like Kiss FM (which is arguably the best-processed station in Birmingham). The Q is in a competitive position that they could even get away with an Omnia One at a third of the cost and still sound great. Maybe they had a good reason to upgrade related to their HD feed or something.

thanks whit. Not sure what kiss is running but many the urbans use aphex toys like the big bottom to pump up the bass.My eng friend tried out the 09.sent it back, said he couldn't hear $8100.00 diff between that and the Breakaway Broadcast processor software which is 199.00..

To my knowledge, Kiss is running an Omnia on very unique, custom settings. Omnia included the WBHK call letters for a long time in their trade publication advertisements.
