Couldn't WTIC stay on their day pattern from Hartford sunset to Dallas sunset and merely accept any interferrence from WOAP during those critical hours?

I believe that WTIC had the option of accepting all interference received while it was on day pattern after sunset. Thing is, there would have been zero population within WTIC's protected contour because any and all co-channel interference would have been made legit. That would have reduced the stick value. I guess that CBS thought that having WTIC become a standard DA-N Class A was the better deal--no need to offer long-winded explanations when describing the facilities.

"License to Modify" usually refers to something like an equipment replacement, say a new trransmitter or if FM, a new antenna on the same tower.

WAOP was sold and has an oldies Format. They are running 1 kw day. With all the work put into the 50 kw/2.5 kw night, Could they add night Service?

Looks to me like WTIC has a very broad night pattern because, although they could have a deep null toward the southwest, tower #2 radiates significantly more RF than their reference tower. Looking at their two coverage maps, they might actually do better with a DA-1 pattern. Spacing two towers ¾ƛ apart showed much more concern for coverage than it did for saving a few acres.
