Is it me or has WQIC added more gold songs? The station sounds a little more retro as of late and I think it sounds good. There's still plenty of newer stuff, but also some good older tunes. Also, what's with this station and their AM sister station not having a website? Even tiny little AM satellite stations no one listens to have websites. Is WQIC's ownership very old-fashioned and don't believe in a web presence? I just found it interesting in this day and age. ::)
 
;D Ahh. Another Lebanon station without a website. Lebanon is one old fashioned county. :p Anyway, I can't turn WQIC off. Why haven't I been listening sooner? This is a damn good station. The way AC radio SHOULD sound. They're playing the hotter, newer AC stuff but they haven't forgotten the 70s and 80s classics like the Bee Gee's, Matther Wilder ("Break My Stride"), and older Michael Jackson stuff. It's like a perfect mix of "The Rose" and the former "Mix 106.7." Kudos WQIC. You have a new fan.
 
Agreed, Interstate. I "rediscovered" WQIC last summer and added it back to my presets. I hadn't listened to them for a few years, but they do have a good mix of AC music. I remember listening to WQIC back in the 90s when they were Top 40 as Q100. I think they changed to soft rock in '97. Anyhow, if you haven't heard it already, they have a really good show on from noon-1pm on weekdays (I think it's called the Lunch Boat). They feature songs from a particular year, with many songs that aren't typically played on the radio at all anymore. It's also interesting to note that they're not a "full time" station. I believe they sign off at 1AM each night. But, anyhow, yes, they are a very good AC station music-wise.
 
When it comes to broadcasting, Lebanon County is scraping the bottom of the barrel. Not one of Lebanon County's radio station were listed in the last Arbitron I saw for the Harrisburg market. Of course, that might 10 years ago, but there hasn't been any significant changes since then.

Are you saying that Arbitron doesn't count stations that don't by the book? Wouldn't that skew the results?
 
The ad agencies get ALL the numbers as well as subscribing stations. Stations that DONT subscribe don't get the numbers and may not use them to sell advertising...plus...the general public no longer gets to view those numbers.

Then they do count the stations that don't by the book. They just can't see it or use it in any way.
