does cumulus own wqkc/wzzb? the cumulus website doesn't have them in the list.

S.C.I. broadcasting holds the license for QKC.

And according to the FCC S.C.I. is Cumulus Media Partners. I suspect Cumulus isn't listing it on the website because they're moving 'QKC to Louisville and will just list it as a Louisville station, if they don't sell it first.

WQKC/WZZB is owned by Cumulus and is currently LMA'd by Blair Trask. I've been the CE there since Blair became involved in late 1989. My checks come from Traskom,LLC . Sunnyside Communications, Inc (SCI) was the owner before Susquehenna bought it 5 or so year ago. The FM is going to Louisville at some point. The AM will remain in Seymour. It's future ownership is not settled at this time.

Any idea when? This seems to be dragging on and on and on...I can't believe it has taken this long.

One can only assume that Cumulus has bigger fish to fry right now. The CP was granted in Mar of 2005. I understand that a CP lapses after 3 years. Based on that, I'd say you'll see some serious effort made on this topic this year.

Bob, got any info on the WYGB move to 100.3 and WXCH to Hope?

I do not...While I work for both of the affected parties, no one is talking--even in confidence. My gut is that if something were going to nuke the whole thing, we'd probably know it by now. It sure looked like the whole deal was on the fast track, but as with most FCC matters, I guess we'll all have to wait & see. Besides, you know that the engineer is always the last to know. I'll find out about it after the equipment's been ordered & the first words out of my mouth will be..."you want it installed by when?"...followed by loud laughter.

Hey bob,

Hope all is well.

Looks like Bloomington and IU may have knocked the RM off the fast track.

anyone who wants to read up can go to fcc.gov, media bureau, then use the drop down box to FM query Indiana. Under Edinburgh look at the Rm number which is a link and you can read all about it.

I guess the big thing is the FCC Allocations Chief is now representing clinets in private practice . Violates Federal law. You can't argue against a Law like a Rulemaking when you helped establish it. Lipp established Versailles as Bureau Chief now is trying to change it.

Still finding out about the under the table LMA Cumuls has with pieratt for Hope/Aurora, etc. $600,000 paid to a station under an LMA and purchase agreement and they didn't level with the Feds about.

Other good news. Yesterday filed an app for WJCF to switch to CH 262 at Morristown. The Rulemaking isn't permanent yet because it isn't final. Petitions To Deny exist.

The WJCF move is a minor move under the streamlining Rules and the Hope Edinburgh move is a major move. Wonder if any of the Cumulus crowd thought about this. Will look next week to see.

Since an app has been filed looks like all the money paid will have to be accounted for since it involves settling an application.
