WQMF Voice

Hi guys and gals. I just stumbled upon this site while surfing and it's great to find people as interested in radio as I am. I've never worked in radio but have always found it interesting. I have a question. Who did the "big voice guy" at WQMF for the majority of the '90s and part of the 2000's? I always found his voice annoying and was glad when he was replaced by this newer one. I noticed that the old voice also still does work for WKQQ.

I believe you're speaking of John B. Wells. Annoying? Apparently Clear Channel doesn't find him that way; for a time he imaged many of their rockers, continuing with WKQQ as well as others. I've worked with John in the past and not only is he an incredible voice talent, he's an accomplished on-air personality as well.

Yep, that's him. I went on his website and heard a sampling of his other work. I had no idea he was so popular, he did work on all four major TV networks as well as many radio stations. I still feel that he's not a good voice for a rock station, but maybe it's just me lol. I like the current WQMF voice , and I also like the SFR voice.

BTW Future Bob, thanks for actually playing some music in the mornings!
