I remember back in 1997, WHDM-AM in McKenzie, TN, a little 500-watt daytimer, sold for $27,000. That's a little more like it, although I thought the building in which WHDM was located was probably worth at least that much, even without a radio station included in the deal, because the building was located near downtown, making it worth more than it would have been had it been out in the middle of nowhere like many radio station studios are.

Meanwhile on WQSV, Gary Kaye is back on the air there, and they are carrying Ron Jordan's syndicated newscasts. Glad to know that Jordan is not exclusively on WQSV, since I also heard him over WNAH as well.

Just curious, what are the 16 stations, and how did Ron get a gig like this? He's doing it from his home or something, right? Wasn't he laid off from WSM or something? And is this the same Ron Jordan who used to be on FM 100 in Memphis years ago? Or am I confusing him with Ron Olson? Is that enough questions for one thread? ;D

I'm glad to see that WQSV is doing something like this, rather than trying to do it "in-house," because I seriously doubt that Corky could, or would, be able to pay someone enough to do what Ron is doing for them. Evidently, he is getting Ron's services for free, or at a very reduced rate, otherwise, they wouldn't be carrying him!
