In case anyone hears incessant ads for Myrtle Beach resorts on 1480, you're hearing WQTM from Fair Bluff NC.
It is 10,000 watts day and 48 watts night, omni 24/7. The COL and tower are located halfway between Fort Bragg and Myrtle Beach, and its coverage includes that 'South Of The Border' tourist stop as well, in Dillon SC -- Pedro's Place.
WQTM was coming in atop 1480 across 8:00 this morning (Weds), with numerous ads for Myrtle Beach casinos, along with a couple of hundred mentions of route 501. I called the station at 9:40 to inquire if it was they, because their signal is the logical tourist tollbooth according to Radio-Locator, and the guy on duty, who answered the phone 'WQTM', indeed said it was. From the way I get it, WQTM runs mostly tourist information 'over the computer', ads for resorts, and even broadcasts the Grand Ol' Opry.

Since buying the Grundig S450 in November, I've sort of come to claim 1480 as a private 'Gone Fishin' hole, lol. Have gotten six stations there so far the past few weeks.
