How could one not get it to work?

They had no issues getting audio from route 36/37 studio site in Delaware for the longest time (that sister stations WVXG 95.1 and WINF-LP 101.9 share).. I don't see how it could be much more difficult to get a signal of some sorts from Marysville proper to the 1270 tower site just East of Marysville on 36.
 
Heard a local talk show on WQTT this morning... The Dr. read an email from a listener so maybe
she was live in the studio? This was from 9:45 AM to 10:00 AM when I was listening. She gave a couple of recipes on air and mentioned a community event in Marysville.

Very good audio from the station and I was pretty impressed with the show. Maybe this time was paid for by the Dr.?
 
She was live from the new studio 9 to 10a. I also got a little air time about 8:30 to talk about the Indian Lake station and the boat show this weekend. BTW, we got new carpet in our new studio "B" yesterday and it looks great. Next time you guys are at Indian Lake, stop by and see our little station.. and radio-TV musuem ..I'm there every Sat am from 7 to noon...Gene
 
WQTT is sounding pretty good in the morning now that it's live. I sure wish the new talk WVKO-AM would do a live morning
local show. If WQTT in Marysville can pull this off, then WVKO-AM in Columbus should be able to do it.

You mentioned your now defunct low power radio station on WQTT last Monday. This was the one you ran on 1620 AM in
Marysville a couple of years ago.
You were trying to bring local programming back to Marysville after
St. Gaberal Catholic Radio purchased WUCU(now WQTT) a few years ago. I believe you said on the air that the FCC in Detroit, Michigan visited your station on 1620 AM last year and closed it down... Is that correct?

Nope..we shut down part 15 station on our own when WQTT went live. The story I was talking about happened in 1950..when AM was king!
 
This was posted on R-I about four years ago about 1620 AM in Marysville. It mentions the FCC did
inspect the station but found no violations in the Part 15 rules and regulations. Did the FCC visit

The station is completely LEGIT and uses a Hamilton Rangemaster transmitter. It is an FCC Part 15 AM Type Accepted transmitter! I'm afraid the FCC DOES NOT AGREE WITH YOU! A while back an FCC Field Officer from Detroit inspected the station and didn't see anything wrong with the station.

You know what takes a lot of nerve? Ignorant people such as this pretending to be informed on a subject and slinging around gossip and innuendo about someone's station before they have all the facts. And I also suggest you familiarize yourself with the FCC's rules concerning part 15 AM operation. 15.219 supercedes previous rules that limited a station's coverage area and now it is perfectly legal to have a station broadcast several miles on a mere 100 mw into a ten foot antenna.

Gene, the WQTT GM said today that Radio World has picked WQTT out of 800 stations across the
nation to do a story on. He also said on the air this morning that this issue should be out at the end of April.

Gene, If yo are reading this, I'm curious if the FCC in Detroit did actually visit your Part 15 station on 1620AM?

Why does this continue to be asked on a public forum? Can't it be dealt with elsewhere between the two of you, as in a private message?
 
WRONG... First of all I am NOT the G/M of WQTT...and the story will be about WRPO-LP at Indian Lake, where I AM the G/M. Of the some 800 LP stations on the air, they are doing a story about our little station being on air 24/7 for 10 years. (Many of them have gone dark). And yes, I did get a visit from the FCC about the part 15 in Marysville. No problems found. I took it off the air after WQTT went live..don't need two stations in Marysville playing the same oldies music..lol.

I caught some of your conversation on the upcoming Radio-World issue and that is why I assumed you were talking about WQTT. The WQTT reception is not the best in downtown Columbus.

As far as the FCC visiting your old Part 15 station, I assume the FCC was acting on an compliant
of some kind?

This is why it scares me when people assume Wikipedia is always (or even usually) a reliable source.  Anyone can add or change anything instantly and easily.  I've done it myself a couple times, which should be proof enough of why you have to be skeptical.  ;)  All that said, I know there's always a temptation to get info from Wikipedia -- I do it myself all the time, but I always keep in mind that some of the info may be wrong, incomplete or biased.

Gary Rivers is the Station Manager at WQTT. He is on air am's with Mark Brake. They are looking for a news person, I understand.
