What is the format of the station?
While searching the net, I've seen conflicting reports of the real format.
Do they use their nightine authorazation? It is listed as planned on the fcc site.
Radio-locator shows them as a daytime only operation.
William "Bill mohonay" [Not sure of spelling] Worked at WHAR in the 1970's, Is he on Your Page. He started at WCVI when I was at WLSW. We Both Grew up in Lawrenciville and went to Schenley High.Don Niles said:I saw the name Nick Corvello a few posts back having been owner at WQTW in Latrobe...There was a very popular jock of that name back in the early 60's on WBOY in Clarksburg,WV..He worked the "Sky Castle" over the Ellis Drive In Restaurant...My questions are is Nick Corvello still alive and if so where is he.
I ask because I am the administrator of a Facebook Group of Clarksburg Radio People from back in the day and I am trying to locate a few...Nick Corvello's name comes up frequently in discussion.

I believe that WQTW is back to simulcasting WLSW in Scottdale (Connellsville), with local polkas and oldies shows on the weekends. They've done the simulcast for close to 20 years now...they've had operators that leased the facilities and put on independent programming, but weren't able to make a go of it. Add into the mix a very strong in-town competitor, WCNS.
The current owner tried to make a go of separate formats again a couple years ago, oldies, and then classic country. It didn't work.
But the station is licensed 24/7 and has been since 1989. They're 1000 watts during the day and 224 watts at night, and to my knowledge they're on the air 24/7.

In Westmorland County on Sunday 9/18 WQTW Loud and Clear with Polka's. Signal not Strong at night in New Staton But Listenable.Jkf said:I can not find the rhyme or reason to it but WQTW is definitely separate from WLSW a good portion of the time. I have heard "16Q" jingles and liners mixed in with a very diverse playlist of automated 60s/70s oldies and 80's softer a/c songs.
