Although the FCC granted the request, I don’t believe they’re broadcasting yet from Paxton. I tuned in yesterday in Worcester and the signal was nonexistent.

Also, co-owned WQVD Orange-Athol had also filed to move.

“ON FEBRUARY 27, 2025, HAMPDEN COMMUNICATIONS CO., LICENSEE OF RADIO STATION WQVD-AM (700 KHZ) ORANGE-ATHOL MA, FILED AN APPLICATION WITH THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION FOR A CHANGE OF COMMUNITY OF LICENSE. MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC WISHING TO VIEW THIS APPLICATION OR OBTAIN INFORMATION ABOUT HOW TO FILE COMMENTS AND PETITIONS ON THE APPLICATION CAN VISIT PUBLICFILES.FCC.GOV , AND SEARCH IN WQVD'S PUBLIC FILE.”

Looks like WQVD Orange is moving to the Paxton xmtr location. I have a feeling that WQVR (Webster} will probably go dark at some point.

so theyre both moving to the same transmitter site... but 940 will retain the webster site as its night site since Class D AM's have no city of license coverage requirement at night

What is the plan with these I wonder.. sell... and if so, who pay tell would wan them?

If not, what are they going to do with them programming wise?

I'm pretty sure that all they want is the WQVR Translator. I'll keep watching the FCC LMS to see what materializes. I pretty sure W257EH-FM 99.3 MHz is on the original WESO-FM tower which may cover Webster, Southbridge & Dudley, but I'm not so sure about Worcester. 250 watts isn't exactly a flame thrower. A 4 watt AM isn't exactly WBZ either. Especially at night.;)
