I assumed it was for the AM due to the label. Anywhere I have been where there were both an AM and FM with the same calls, the FM gear was very prominently labled "FM". And, usually, the AM was also identified by "AM" but not always. That's a Nautel Exporter Plus. Those can do either AM or FM HD. T

Maybe one of the engineers had the "it will always be WQXR to me" sentiment? This equipment is early 21st century vintage. By the time it would have been purchased, there hadn't been a WQXR AM in over a decade.
(Come to think of it, since WQXR AM went away in 1993/94, it could never have been IBOC.)
Another quotable oxymoron: AM HD radio. Anyone remember AM Stereo was going to save the band?I was not sure whether to post this in the tech section or under New York City... but I decided that it shows the current attitude towards AM HD radio!

It is on eBay for $699 "or best offer". My best offer would be appropriate for the 99 Cent store.
I assume the students at the Media Hut are too young for that!Anyone remember AM Stereo was going to save the band?
Phoenix AM stereo: One transmitter in Tolleson and the other in Guadalupe.Another quotable oxymoron: AM HD radio. Anyone remember AM Stereo was going to save the band?
Could it have been ready for when WNYC AM was going to test an All-Digital MA3 signal to observe coverage in the NYC signal area.Maybe one of the engineers had the "it will always be WQXR to me" sentiment?

Yeah, but it would make the perfect doorstop.No. This is an obsolete piece of FM HD gear.
