WRAL-TV Newscasts...

How many viewers are tired of WRAL leading most of their newscasts with what's going on inside the Wake
County Schools?, I know for parents who have children attending here, whatever the decisions will be are
very important, but lately, especially with their 6:00 News, they focus quite a bit on that.

Something has gone very wrong with WRAL. They used to be quite balanced in their news coverage. Unfortunately, they are now following the predictable path to oblivion that CBS, CNN, and that ilk are on.

Not a big fan of their advocacy journalism either, or their insistence on telling us Raleigh's the state capital in each news open.

I don't know of any issue that is more important to a local community than it's public schools, so in that sense WRAL-TV is doing it's job. And any observer who has seen what happened to the Charlotte Mecklenburg schools after forced resegregation of their schools in 2002 knows Raleigh-Wake County Schools are proceding down a slippery path.

I Reckon I go back to my old TV days in Orlando/Daytona Beach.. If it Bleeds, It Leads!

Yeah, WSOC-TV in Charlotte can't pass up any crime story and, while it's been a while since I actually watched one of their newscasts, the main reason I stopped was that crime seemed more important than anything else. WCNC-TV, which once ignored crime unless it was really important, ended up almost the same way. And now I no longer watch local news or have time to. I read the newspaper.

Looks like Bush might beat Gore.
