WRAL

I admit, it's been awhile since I've listened to this station on a regular basis. So, can any P1's tell me if they're still burining out songs like "Urgent" and that cover of "Listen To Your Heart" like they were just a few years ago?

My wife listens to WRAL. When I'm in the car with her I've observed the WRAL playlist. It appears to be something like this:

Jason Mraz - I'm Yours
Taylor Swift - Love Story

Repeat.

They are now your run of the mill AC. Without liners it could pass for any AC in the nation.

The quirks were what made WRAL... they went away with Joe Wade.

Hmmm? Since Joe left (was told to leave) the station appears to be enjoying shares it hasn't seen since the early 90's. Quirks = low ratings. Run of the mill to you, but it seems to be working.

WRAL also had a competitor in the same format since the early 90s. Sunny 93.9 isn't on the air anymore. Where else would those listeners go?

Gee, I don't know. Kiss? River? Y102? WMAG? Q98? G105 QDR? RDU? Check the cume dupe, RAL shares with a lot of folks.

Doesn't WRAL stand for... We Repeat A Lot ?

I really thought a good competition for WRAL was going to be "Classy 104" (with FBI in the morning...circa 1985-86). It seems WRAL always seems to come out on top. Another challenger was "WTRG" when they first started. Also to some degree 850 WKIX AM with Joe Wade in the morning!!
