WRAW returns

1340 Reading is returning to its heritage calls WRAW. That was a pretty stupid move to change them in the first place. Will the oldies return? And what will happen to the WKAP calls now that they are up for grabs? Would be a good move for 1320 to pick them up and make that an oldies station but that makes to much sense

Thanks but when someone brings back oldies in the area FULLTIME, I'll listen to them. I can't hear WGPA where I live. Last time I listened to WGPA it was playing polkas!

A few things here:

1) Correct.... you CANNOT get Sunny 1100 in Berks County.

2) Why would you WANT to listen to WGPA? The station sucks.

3) Let's see what happens with the new ownership.

4) I could see why Cheap Channel would plug in the God Squad 24/7 (the departure of WBYN), but Oldies should have never been dumped.

partially incorrect. you can get sunny 1100 clearly into north-eastern fringes of berks county around longswamp township and maxatawny township. and on a good car radio i've gotten them as far as morgantown, 15 miles PAST Reading, amazing what 250 watts can do. i remember when bobby koch was on WGPA the first time around in the 90s and early 2000s, he kept mentioning an over the air listener from sinking spring, just outside Reading.

2) Why would you WANT to listen to WGPA? The station sucks.

sometimes true. othertimes not. as with any brokered/full-service station, the station has high and low points. i think the high and the low points equal each other out. its still refreshing something like this exists on the dial even if it is far from perfect.

3) Let's see what happens with the new ownership.

i still get a kick outta the fact that GOOD RADIO TV bought 102.5 and 1340 AM. maybe religious is coming to 102.5 and rock hits will become Y-1340 AM. i am joking.

4) I could see why Cheap Channel would plug in the God Squad 24/7 (the departure of WBYN), but Oldies should have never been dumped.

agree. and with the recent amazing success of WOGL in Philly and oldies coming back to NYC on WCBS, i think more stations ready to dump oldies may be re-evaluating that plan.
