WRBJ 34 is on the air

Just noticed that WRBJ is on the air. Not sure when they flipped the switch but its on as of 6:25 with "The Jeffersons" Picking it up in Rankin County with some snow turning the antenna might help.
Edited by Pat2 on 02/09/06 12:31 AM.

I noticed that I was able to get the station just before 9PM last night. However, there's lots of snow on my screen. But being in Pocahontas, I should expect that. Hopefully, DirecTV will be picking up WRBJ soon.
______________

Comes in good in south rankin county but the antenna has to be turned towards magee, which screws up the other channels. I guess the only thing you can do is get a rotator. I've been watching a lot of it lately but they could have left off the South Park reruns. That show is overated and has never been that funny. At least they don't have Maury Povich and Jerry Springer on 5 times a day like the other guys do.

I second that motion. I, too, am on DirecTV and impatiently awaiting the return of UPN so I can see new Everybody Hates Chris episodes!

I e-mailed customer service(Directv), and they sent me a mainly generic response that said their information still shows WXMS as UPN, but they would be open to negotiations with the new station. This employee was probably not "in the loop" when it comes station additions.

Apparently the e-mail did some good. On the Directv's Locals Availablity page, WXMS is now listed as IND in affiliation.

Here is a comment I received from a significant person at Roberts Broadcasting:

The final technical operations are being conducted in Jackson for WRBJ. As soon as that is completed, I would estimate the direct satellite services will be adding WRBJ to their local line up in approximately 30 days.

This was received around mid-January. From their comments, it sounds like they already have agreements and just need to equip and configure the Local Receive Facility (DirecTV) and Point of Presence (Dish Network).

The syndicated TV version is heavily edited, obviously. It can't be as funny as the real thing. Sex and the City is even more edited, with digital clothes "painted on" the actors during nude scenes. It's really odd to watch.

So, perhaps an early to mid-March airdate on DirecTV?
