WRBQ & WQYK

Both stations were off the air much of the day. I know they share the same transmitter site downtown Tampa on one of the buildings. About 2 o'clock WQYK came on with low audio and a weak signal. WRBQ came on around 3:00 with a much weaker signal. Anyone know what's up?

Radio Station K-99? Good job getting the facts correct ABC28TampabayActionNews!

How long has it been since QYK has been called K99? 15 years or so???

Ch 28 is right up to date....

Um, not to pick a fight but when was the last time you heard ABC Action News call themselves Channel 28?

I laugh at the radio listing in the Sunday TV section of both papers. Talk about being out of touch! It makes me wonder if some of this is intentional.<P ID="signature">______________

To hear them tell it, it's like their version of the Glazer Family's take on the old Bucs logo--they don't want to admit that it existed.

Nah, I just chalk it up to a "get a roll of stamps and mail it in" mentality that seemingly runs rampant amongst the local media.

I dont have cable so I get ABC in Tampa on Channel 28.... Sarasota is the worst. CH 40 makes no reference anywhere on their website that they are on CH 40, 52 on digital. They want to be known as ABC 7. That is their cable position. They ignore all the people with satellite that get them on CH 40. The first I saw this was in the Ft. Myers Naples market

Sad that both ABC affiliates in this market image themselves to make them look ridiculously idiotic.

I think the Fort Myers/Naples market was the first in the country to have an affiliate ID themselves by the cable channel instead of the broadcast.

In Sarasota, how do you know which ABC is which?

...since they're both on cable...

Re: In Sarasota, how do you know which ABC is which?

The one with the audio out of sync with the distorted video image, and the color that seems to follow the image just slightly behind itself, and the spots for "beeper stores" and Publix Bakery "Senior Tips" during sweeps is Sarasota

You wait to see Dusty Rhodes and Tom Stimus bang on the hood of a car. Woops, 20 years too late....

Re: In Sarasota, how do you know which ABC is which?

Maybe Rich Unger will bring back the buy one get 4 free T Backs.....Ahhh a great invention indeed.... The T Back Then I'll know what station I'm watching. Oh, I also forgot the spot for the Roll up shutter place in Venice. With the guy from the Venice Chevy Dealer doing the V/O. Or Wendy Ross still in High School doing the weather and some commercials for a furniture place.... Or how about Art Grindles auto ranch "I want to sell YOU a car" with a great big head....Oops that was Orlando... Today's kids will only have Morgan and Morgan for the people to remember. How sad...
