WRBZ AM 850

There have been plans in the works to move 102.5 from Louisburg to Hillsborugh since about 2001 or 2002, with 102.3 moving to Smithfield. A simulcast between the two would be a smart idea, at least for market coverage with two rimshot signals.

What format? Will they stay country, or change formats so as not to conflict with sister station 94.7? With 106.1 having gone "Rush Radio," 94.7 once again is the only major country station in the market...
If 102.5 changes formats, here's an idea: Bring back the old "Star FM" (102.9's previous incarnation until 2005)...

You mean a format that targets 35-54 year olds who graduated high school between 1978 and 1992?
That would never work ;)

We were probably a few years early with that format. But it would be very lucrative today.

I think the Triangle needs an Active Rock station. Granted WBBB plays new rock, but a lot of bands, that are very popular, get little to no airplay on WBBB. I compared WBBB to other mainstream rock stations in the US, especially WEBN in Cincinnati, and WBBB has a totally different playlist, band-wise, compared to WEBN and others
