WRCH 100.5 off the air earlier - Storm related?

WRCH was off the air for a good 35 minutes maybe longer. I noticed them off the air at 6PM and discovered them back on the air at 6:35. Was this storm related? I actually find it odd that they were off because they have a back up antenna. They have an antenna on Rattlesnanke Mountain and they have another one on Birdseye Road behind the CT School of Broadcasting. La Mega 101.7/910 (which also has their antennas on Birdseye Road) was still on the air so there couldn't have been a power outage on Birdseye Road. I don't think La Mega has a generator.

I'm thinking it was. The storm came through Montville (where I am) like a hurricane and left within five minutes so i'm assuming 100.5 got knocked out. I noticed it was out but I think every other station was on.

If I'm not mistaken, WICC 600 was knocked out for a bit as well. Was trying to listen around 5:30 PM last night, and couldn't find a carrier on its signal. Instead, I picked up a Spanish station just below it, which was coming in pretty well. Perhaps that was WLIE on 540 khz?

Are you saying you normally can't hear WLIE when WICC is on the air? That's 60 KHz of splatter! From Bridgeport, you should always be able to hear WLIE whether WICC is off the air or not. Do you live right next to the WICC transmitter?
