WRCH asleep at the switch

GOD you're ignorant, Marc. You've really hit a nerve on this one.

Do you have any idea how complex the physical plant is? Are you aware that microphone chain components fail from time to time? Did you know that there is absolutely no voice tracking that occurs in the WRCH studio? Did you know that Joan is in that studio at all times during her shift?

I didn't realize that interning at a crappy little AM daytimer in Southington a decade ago qualified you to be judge, jury, and executioner. Maybe if you spent less time criticizing those of us working our asses off day in and day out at radio stations across this state and more time perfecting your craft, you'd be among our ranks.

Yes I know there is no VTing at WRCH. My point is that the **WIN line is only open for 5 mins after the codeword is given. Since she was 2 minutes late (for whatever reason) giving out the codeword that means listeners only had 3 mins to call **WIN.

As for WXCT I would say giving me my own show was probably the stupidest thing Charlie Profit ever did when he was running that station.

Really? You hope she gets fired for this? You really are an ignorant fool. Things happen. This is not a fireable offense. It more than likely wasn't her fault. Perhaps you should stop criticizing every little nuance that happens in Connecticut radio and maybe learn something about the industry. Seriously... Every time I see your name pop up on a post, I know it's going to be something about dead air, missed call signs, etc. Its live entertainment... And when things are voice tracked, computers sometimes have glitches. Get over it. Instead of criticizing every single minor issue, perhaps you should learn something about the business and maybe make some positive suggestions.

I can't help but think that people can admonish Marc all they want and it's lost on him. He got what he wanted out of his over 7000 postings: attention. It's sad that he can't come up with an apology instead of more small details.

But we didn't get to read where he was and what he was doing when he heard this unforgivable, career-threatening faux pas. Come on, let's have it! At your mom's house? In the parking lot of a Chinese restaurant in beautiful downtown Plantsville? On your way to the Stop & Shop -- no, not the one in Meriden, the one in Wallingford -- to pick up a detailed list of groceries?

Ha Ha. I'm not even going to dignify that with a response. I should've mentioned that my comment that she should befired was really just tounge-in-cheek, because I don't care for Joan as a personality. If it was up to me I would give Kim Zachary the 9-2 slot and have Joan do weekends only.
