WRCH Lite 100.5 - Not So Lite...

I haven't listened to them in awhile. Sure they sound good seem a little more modern so no much 70s or 80s AC songs I would see being played. While listening online in on of the liners they said "Lite Rock" which they have never used to my knowing. One song surprised to see being played is Katy Perry - CA Gurls as doesn't that have Snoop Dogg in it. As for Lite 100.5 they can't go anymore or they would just cross into 96.5 TIC music.

Not to be grammar police, but where do I begin here? I've read this 3 times and still don't understand the point.

Last week I was able to hear their night show "Pillow Talk" which featured a soft AC mix, it sounded good and should be something every AC station should have. But they still had Delilah on Sunday night

That was part of budget cuts at CBS Hartford last year. Pillow Talk used to be on live 7 nights a week 9PM-Midnite. Hosted by Dean Richards Monday-Friday and Glenn Colligan (from the WTIC TAG SALE) on Saturdays and Sundays. Budget cuts came and Glenn's shift on WRCH (7PM-Midnite on Saturdays and Sundays) was replaced by Delilah. So Delilah is on 7 days a week 12AM-5AM and 7PM-Midnight on Saturdays and Sundays.

As for how the budget cuts affected the other CBS Stations in Hartford I know that HOT 93.7 isn't using fill-in jocks as much as they used to. They've been extending the shifts of their other jocks instead.

Recently HOT 93.7's KIDD FRESH (6PM-10PM) took the week off. This is what they did.

10AM-3PM Da Bigg Man (Normally on 10AM-2PM)
3PM-8PM Jenny Boom Boom (Normally on 2PM-6PM)
8PM-2AM Linda Reynolds (Normally on 10PM-2AM)

Then when Jenny Boom Boom took time off it was:

10AM-3PM Da Bigg Man
3PM-8PM Kidd Fresh
8PM-2AM Linda Reynolds

As much as I frown upon jockless music shifts... agreed with you on this one!

There's an audience that loves a show that pulls at heartstrings. There's another audience that loves 3 Stooges reruns. My guess is that the posters here are not in the first group. Delilah is a huge success and not just a replacement for a local show. If the local Pillow Talk show were not already so well established, you can bet WRCH would have it on weekday evenings too. It's a big ratings winner with many AC stations' key demographics, whether it's our cup of tea or not.

Glenn's got it on this one... people love to hate on Delilah, but she's definitely got an audience. Same thing with Lifetime: there's a big audience for sappy "pull at the heartstrings" stories. I'd venture a guess that a lot of Delilah's audience happens to love Lifetime.

I'm not in either of those camps, but she definitely has a value.

It's annoying to hear her on almost every AC station. I prefer local shows like Pillow Talk on Lite 100.5 or The Nightlight on 101.9 Lite FM in Baltimore.

I don't want to hear that annoying Delilah on 14 stations during a tropo opening!

I have "the lite" on at work still ,I have not change back to WDRC yet.But I notice the new tunes are getting played on there are the same as TIC ,KC101 and Kiss. Also I've notice they are playing more country tunes lately which is great.Today I heard Katy Perry two times.I can without Creed and some of those newer bands. But they want to play a mix of tunes to make the listeners happy.WDRC took over the 70's and 80's tunes.I have not tune in Star 99.9 lately also I have not tune in River 105.9 too lately.

Don't get me wrong WRCH still sounds good, still playing the older AC songs along with some newer AC hits. Its their way of being you can say fresh without being called it.
