WRCH Music

Lite 100.5 just played "Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape (w/ Akon)" I thought they left songs to that for 96.5 TIC. And to add Lite just played this song after a Fleetwood Mac song. I also just went to see the list and they play "Timbaland - Apologize (w/ OneRepublic)". Sure these two songs kind of have a lite side. Kinda
 
What disgusts me is when they play "Don't Turn Around" from Ace Of Base (1994). They have the nerve to cut out a short verse by Buddha near the end because they consider it to be a four line "rap". Totally ridiculous! :(

It's about as monotonous as the liner Joe Hahn reads from Big Y every weekday around 4:35 PM. Way too predictable and soccer-mommy-ish. The station is also obviously pro-Red Sox too. When they give a sports update, they always update the Red Sox before the Yankees and love to run a certain Shaw's Supermarket ad from time to time that features the Red Sox radio voice in it. They also seem to get extra giddy if they should play "Sweet Caroline" from Neil Diamond. Maybe it's because of their sister station WTIC-AM 1080?

OK...rant over! :D

While I myself don't actually listen to them per se, I only know this because it's always on at a restaurant I frequent each work day.
 
klm whatever...you might be interested to know that joe hahn is a die hard yankee fan. the shaws spot that you hear is running on all the cbs stations in hartford. it has nothing to do with the station being yankee or red sox biased

It's called consistency. It's what works in radio time after time. It's entirely possible that owning the soccer mom audience is more important to their continued success than trying to please everyone. They deliver a specific age group, gender and income level that make them a must buy for many advertisers. What an 18-year-old guy thinks sounds good may not concern them much if at all. That's not their focus.

Kinda reminds me of when I hear Sugar Ray's "Fly" song without the reggae stylings of Super Cat. "AC-ed down" pop music just doesn't sound the same.
