WRDV

Bill Hower and Bill Jacobs begin their 21st year of broadcasting on WRDV. An article about their 20th anniversary appears in this weeks Bucks County Herald and the Times Newspapers in Bucks County. Bill Jacobs does a Friday afternoon Big Band Show and Bill Hower does a Friday night Beautiful Music show. Both formats are not frequently heard on the radio anymore and RDV being a non-commercial radio station can fill the nitch for an audience that the commercial stations have forgotten. WRDV is heard on 89.3, 107.3 (Phila) 97.1 and WLBS 91.7. If you are outside these listening area, the station is on the web at www.wrdv.org

Although the Big band Era is not a viable money making format it's nice to see at least the music is being kept alive. It had some decent revivals over the years on WIBF,WBUX,WPEN and WJZ. Maybe some AM'ers across the country will keep it going. The music is too important to disappear completely.
