WRDW Big Announcement - Chio exiting WRDW Philadelphia

Just now, Chio announced a "big announcement" for 8:20 - and announced he is leaving the program.

Chio is taking home 255,000,000$ and leaving WRDW-FM... I'm not kidding. This is why he's leaving. He won the megamillions.

Very... unique - I'm speechless.

Unique since the drawing isn't until tonight.

It's the reason he provided on-air for leaving. Even if it sounds like a load.

Is his last day April 1?

Was it Chio who did the bit where he pretended traffic reporter Nancy Tolino won the lottery a few years ago?

That was The Barsky Show also on 96.5 but, it was The Point back then.

I remembered that after you posted it.

If it wasn't clear from my prior post, I think this is a bit.

Perhaps he wasn't allowed to say why he really left? Maybe BEN or PEN is flipping to CHR or Rythmetic CHR. Point is, his reason sounds like BS.

Maybe it's B101 flipping...makes about as much sense as some of the other theories. ;) ;)

Any possibility that it could be a stunt for the Spring book? Sounds too fishy for him to get a chance to announce his departure...

No possibility that it's for the Spring book, because there is no Spring book. There's an April book and a May book. :)

But yeah, I think it's an April Fools joke.

Just gotta see what happens tomorrow... This is peculiar.

Stunts aren't all that peculiar.

What do you mean by "stunt"?

Isn't that commonly only used for new signals?

New formats on old signals. But that's stunt*ing*. In this context a "stunt" is a wacky morning bit designed to get attention from people who don't usually listen.

Call it a bit, stunt, joke, prank...whatever you want, the meaning is the same.

So, basically - we're saying that Chio may not be leaving and may just be saying this to attract new listeners?

Rather lazy done bit, stunt, joke, prank, ect. They didn't bother removing him or making any mention of his exit on their website, or facebook. Even Chio's facebook makes no mention of him leaving (outside fans posting on his wall about it)

Either way, it wouldn't affect what I normally listen too.

But i'll tune in to WRDW again tomorrow to see what's the deal on his ... "stunt".
