WRDW(Wired 96.5)/Philadelphia gives birth to....

Look, before the hype starts...

Situation 1: Nothing happens. It's gone and replaced with rap in 3 months.

Situation 2: There is a sudden massive rush for IBOC radios in the USA in our desperate attempt to get dance music on the airwaves. Secondary digital channels pop up everywhere with dance formats and we takeover the radio industry. Robbins buys Ibiquity and then they buy Ibiza.

Your call.
______________

Here's a quote from GM Lynn Bruder on Billboard Radio Monitor's website about the new HD outlet(September 21st):

"Our audience, which grew up listening to digital music, will absolutely devour this new channel....By offering them two complementary sources for the hottest Dance music in Philadelphia, we fully expect our listeners to become early adapters of this new technology."

I have never seen such negativity from my favorite liquor! Appalling!

Satellite radio was supposed to save dance music 4 years ago. The receivers were cheaper and they offered 100+ channels.

Now you're expecting something that offers nothing new to most people and in the select cities that have something on a secondary channel, expecting someone to justify a very expensive purchase for 1 extra outlet? Are you aware of the cost to a station in order to have IBOC?

This isn't negativity. It's realism. The dance industry doesn't need to hype up IBOC as the second coming of christ only to have it be a mediocre and half ass adopted outlet.

Is it good that we see the first dance outlet on a secondary? Hell yeah. Next time I'm in Philly I'll be listening. My point is that we should have some discretion with how we interpret things like this...and definitely not mistake it for something it's not.
______________

to be playing dance--when, it's clearly an active member
of the hip hop nation?!"

i am most likely..am not catchin that - what is it?!

(AND, any other letter following the stations calls, besides,
the "a" for AM; "F" for FM")// allaccess.com/and the v-soft.com
