Rest of Indiana WREB Greencastle Transmitter Problems?

Usually going silent for a few seconds indicates a problem getting the signal from the studio to the transmitter, not a problem with the transmitter itself.

I heard they moved their studio a couple blocks east this spring, and that could explain it. But if the problem is still happening after several months it suggests either no one is paying attention or the money isn't there to implement a solution.

Edit: I should add, calling and complaining probably goes a long way with a small operator like this.

I've heard this problem on stations that get their music from a satellite. Wind can blow the dish around and cause dropouts. Are they using a satellite delivered format?

it is more likely to be an internet issue with their STL, which many stations are using.

I worked at a station with a bad satellite dish and lots of wind... and when wind took us down, it was usually for longer

I'm betting some kind of internet issue with a barix or comrex......we've had those issues here at KSKO feeding our other stations when we had another provider that wasnt starlink

Barixes have problems themselves sometimes... I once heard an LPFM in a major market play Barix's default feed for several days last year. The variety format from Barix's stream is a far cry from the usual LPFM programming...

The station's very, very low power now in any case--transmitter problems.

Pretty sure Bob Hawkins (owner of the Edinburgh IN SDR) takes care of WREB or knows who does. He's easily found on Facebook.
