WYPL carried WMC5.

No one noticed, but WYPL 89.3 flipped to simulcasting Channel 5 during the event....

So did WMC AM 790. I heard K97 and V101 simulcasting 24/30 as well (and Am 1030 was doing something as well, though it was in spanish so the only word I understood was "tornado")

All due respect to the blind folk, but WYPL is a huge waste of taxpayer money. With the advent of HD, that entire station could be on a secondary channel of WQOX. They pay for a tower out in BFE, pay the light bill for 100 KW station, and built fancy studios. I agree they provide a service, but it's a very limited one and there are many better ways of doing that.

fm100 also had 5 on for a bit
i've been working this wk down at Sheraton.. only station i could hear inside was 96.1... barely fm100... and ch 13's audio ( radio i took today has tv band )
nothing on am only noise everywhere same for fm band except what i noted
