Avi Nelson will be in for Howie again today and Col. Hunt has been promised for next week along with
"best of" shows.

I like listening to Avi Nelson but it's surprising that talk radio stations don't try to bring in some potential future hosts who might cover during other vacations, maybe host another time slot like a weekend, or whatever. There is a plethora of radio talent out there instead of dredging up the same old same olds. Frankly, I find Col. Hunt unlistenable. He's almost as bad as the truly awful Diane Rehm.

Avi will be back New Year's Eve. For Michelle McPhee, the fill in last night and again on New Year's
Eve is conservative author Dan Flynn. Tonight Jordan Rich was in for Rea, and Morgan White Jr.
(he was just interviewing Gene Burns for awhile!), in turn, was in for Jordan.

Agreed on Col. Hunt; he likes coming down from Maine to do Howie's show once in awhile. I wouldn't
mind hearing VB again.

what a pleasure to hear Gene Burns on Morgan's show last night. Makes you realize how just about every talk host in Boston pales in comparison to this guy, in terms of articulation, intelligence and just plain classiness. Not to mention he still has some of the best pipes in the business. Morgan's one of my favorite fill-in hosts, by the way.

Larry Johnson was on the Big Show yesterday, so I guess they're down to 3rd or 4th string...

As far as posters on this board are concerned, I know I'm in the minority,
but I don't find Mustard and Johnson to be anywhere near as bad as some
of you would have us believe. Yeah, they bring a different perpective to
the airwaves, but I think that's a plus, not a minus.

Even if I believed that, they attracted some of the lowest of talk show species, on a regular basis. For that reason alone they had to go. F' from G' --according to Larry-- doesn't even like Craig.
It's almost like they wanted to have a rotten show to taunt the market for some reason.

Felger couldn't even be bothered to show up on time today...no snow, just "I overslept"
Such enthusiasm. About as smarmy in a different way than Mustard.

And...while I haven't listened too much this week, I have not heard much about Danny Villa betond the sports flash...yet OJ and Michael Vick were fair game.

Morons? Jerks? Art, dump the regular and gets some Decaf. No need to come on so strong. I'm sure
you can critique a show without resorting to demeaning names. And the reference to Affirmative
Action is just plain out of line. Larry's sports credentials are really no more or less than some other guys
on the station. His sports cartooning background actually shows me that he has some good opinions
to offer. He often describes himself as a Boston sports fan and, as such, I don't mind getting the fans'
perspective mixed in with the announcers that perhaps you deem more "qualified".

Sorry, but nothing will change my opinion of Larry Johnson. Actually, I've seen him criticized with much harsher verbiage on this very board and others. Check the ones that allow profanity. I didn't even mention his whiney, effeminate voice, his horrible Boston accent, his bad grammar, and his constant failed attempts at humor. He has been openly ridiculed on WEEI for his "borrowing" the thoughts of others (The Recycler). The only perspective he offers, he copied from someone else.

As far as his cartooning background goes, I suggest that you look up the article Bruce Allen wrote that exposed dozens of his "drawings" as obviously traced. I'd also love to see his credentials as a minister. Every thing about him seems to be a lie.
