WRFY: Classic Hits/Rock, They Get It

Oh wows! Head East-'There's Never Been Any Reason'
Toney Carey Project- 'Fine Fine Day' (I've always been a sucker for good story song like this one.)
Blackmore's Rainbow -'Man On A Silver Mountain'
And a special thanks for the Allman Bros., 'Melissa' & Bad Co. 'Movin' On'
Somebody understands the concept that classic rock is not a bunch of Elton John and Billy Joel songs played back to back to back.

I've also commented on WRFY's selection of classic rock. They play a great variety. I like their recent shift to mostly classic rock. I hope they continue with this direction, even if 107.5 does not go classic hits/rock.

The one thing I always enjoyed about WRFY is their wide library, especially the "oh, wow!" factor. You'd never know they're a Cheap....errrrrr.....CLEAR Channel station!

It needs to be said....

KUDOS! to Mike Shannon, Al Burke and the crew at Y-102!

FOX News Alert: YOU SUCK!!! Ya like apples?</P>

Hey, we get it too. The jocks playing the Eltons, Billys and Bostons to death. But our hands are tied. What CAN you do when you KNOW you could be playing better less burnt out stuff but you have some dumbass consultant who couldn't make it as a jock or a PD running the whole damn show? Yeah, I'm bitter. But kudos to WRFY for being able to rise above the insultants.

Tony Carey A Fine Fine Day has long been a WGPA standard. Perhaps WRFY was listening to WGPA!

Bob-

Mike Shannon has not been with the station for years. John Rizutto is the General Manager now. Al Burke is still the PD and still a great guy to work for.

The funny thing is I said to him in December - why don't we just go classic rock! Of course I had to leave before he would do it :)

Rizutto. The former accountant and "coach" of WZZD AM 990? Wow, I never would've thunk it!
