WRIP 97.9 FM Windham has added a translator on Mt. Utsayantha(Delaware county) on 104.5 FM. This gives them coverage in Stamford, Jefferson and Davenport. In addition to their main transmitter, they operate a translator on 97.5 in Durham and a booster transmitter on Hunter Mt.

This was on the air when I was in that area back in August 2010. Was it off, and recently returned?

I believe the translator was originally owned by word of life. They have a class A on that same tower on 105.3 (WGKR)

It may have been owned by them, but it was translating WRIP back in August 2010.

All that I know is that they have just started promoting it. One of the staffers at RIP has been a close personal friend for nearly 40 years, and I understand that their owner who is an engineer just got it set up.

One correction. It is Sounds of Life, not Word of Life. If you look at the FCC database, or the radio locator website, you will see it listed for S. of L. So this is a recent change. As for a year or more ago, I have no doubt what you heard, don't have any idea how long this might have happening in the past.
