WRIT's Early Christmas

This morning WRIT listeners woke up to Christmas songs, and it seemed apparent from the promos and the music that they had made a very early flip to all-Christmas. A few folks at my place of work commented on it today. But on my way home, to my surprise, no Christmas music!

Tonight I hear the dj talk about the poll they've been running, asking listeners when they should start playing Christmas music. She said: "We thought you had voted for November 1, but you told us we were wrong. So we're back to our regular music."

Does anybody know what actually happened? Did they have a glitch in their automation? Did their poll accurately say listeners wanted the station to flip on November 1 (hard to believe!)? And if that's what the poll said, why did they change their mind?

I think they were trying to punk WMYX into flipping to X-mas. Sure enough, a half hour after WRIT did, The Mix followed. Then they went back to normal programming.

It was probably all a ruse.
