I was driving in Anderson this week and switched on WRIX-FM 103.1. They had switched to Adult Cont. from Talk in 2008. There were talk shows playing this week and I heard the "Talk 103.1" Moniker!!!! What the hell is going on at WRIX???? Their website still has the adult cont. format listed! Was the station STUNTING this week??? I am stunned!!! The Talk Format had moved to sister station WANS-AM 1280 in 2008. This week, ESPN Sports was on WANS-AM!!! Ir was like going back in a 2006 time warp with WRIX/WANS!!! What the hell is going on over there??? Why can`t I find ANYTHING on the web about a recent format switch at WRIX??

What time were you driving in Adnerson? Their site reflects AC from 10a-6p and 10p-6a with WYFF News @6 followed by Sportstalk and apparently a talk morning show. So that'd be talk 6a-10a and 6p-10p. But, there is a talk103.com website holder. I think we all know they are stunting. Any right thinking person would know they are going OLDIES! Beloved good times and great oldies. Sorry - couldn't resist.

Craig Debolt, I listened to WRIX-FM 103.1 ALL during the day. They were playing TALK shows at 1,3, 4, 5 PN, etc. They were using the Talk 103.1 liners also! Have they switched to talk. You said that they are stunting, how dp YOU know this??? And by the way, what ever happened to Brother Bill Prather????? I thought that he was the OM/GM of WOLT-FM. Bill, have you changed you name, again???-LOL.

I have no first hand knowledge on this issue GTaGO. Just going by what was listed on their website. I can not hear them up this way so, unsure. Brother Bill Prather is no longer here and don't want to speak for him. But hopefuly rockin' and rollin' his oldies streaming station and other good things.

Craig Bebolt, did you fire Brother Bill??? He had WOLT-FM sounding great. The last time I went through WOLT`s listening area, was very disappointed with the music. WOLT-FM now sounds like a clone of My 102.5 from about 1988!!! WOLT seemed to be missing the fun sound that Braother Bill had on there. It now sounds very cookie cutter, no offense. But, I didn`t hear alot of FUN sounds on there anymore. It also sounded alot like the old Peak 98.1-WPEK-FM from around 1995-1996. As far as Wrix-FM 103.1 goes, they HAVE switched to talk, but didn`t even bother to update their website. Craig BeBolt had made statements saying that YES, WRIX is stunting. Why are you now backing off of these statements, sir. Looks like you posted about something (Wrix) that you really don`t know about. Their website is VERY out dated. Anyone turning on 103.1 now will find talk..... By the way Craig, weren`t you at Rock 101- WCAC-FM back in the late 1970`s or early 1980`s. It seems like I remember you at Rock 101 back when the late Scott Shannon was running it. was that you???

Well, some, not all, use to make lite of (the late) Matt Phillips, but he seemed to always pay the bills. Apparently, the present owners don't know what in the Flyin' Fudgecake to do, but truthfully, neither do I! The station is strapped in that local market rut, with no lift in sight.
I wish them well in whatever they try. For a station such as, the math is simply Advertisements heard by listeners, Patronage, and hopefully, the extension of the selling cycle. It's tough!

hire me, i'd turn it around, with the country music genre and show everyone that clear channel can be competed with, with the country music genre!

Good Times and Great Oldies...No, I, Craig Debolt (with a "D"), did NOT fire Brother Bill Prather. I DO appreciate your tastes for what Bill was doing. And, you're right, it was a great sounding oldies station during it's oldies time.

As far as the current Carolina's Classic 103.3 WOLT sounding like MY 102.5 back in 1988....seems to me like that was a pretty stellar time for them - I'll take it.

If you call cookie cutter offering political talk, 60's at 6, classic country, 70's at 7, beach music, blues, bluegrass, black gospel and classic hits as well as Furman baseball, Football and basketball and Dorman High School Football all on one frequency - you're eating some crazy cookies. There's many, many things you could call such a line up but you lose me at cookie cutter. You may not like any of that but it's far from cookie cutter.

On the 103-1...some mild research reveals they must've switched to "Talk 103.1 Anderson County's Interactive Radio Station" end of July/first of August.
Sorry for causing mass hysteria with my off the cuff oldies comment.

Yes, I have worked for Rock 101 but not in the 70's. I was ROQ's Creative Services Director back when Barnstable owned WROQ & WTPT.
