WRKA flip on You Tube

Oh my gosh that was awesome! Thanks for sharing! I bet people were freaking out about the news talk!

I realize the news/talk montage was a fantasy, but damn that's amazing. Imagine morning and afternoon drive news blocks on a 20 minute rotation (ala WINS). Joe Elliot would be middays as an alternative to Rush. The rest of the schedule would be talk, sports and news when it happens.

There's one flaw, it would cost money. But if "News/Talk 103.1 WRKA" had debut, WHAS would be in trouble.

Wow, that was pretty cool - nice production on that. It's too bad that they really didn't go news/talk. It would be nice to see WHAS actually have some competition. They've gotten away for too long being a bad radio station - same with WAMZ. Although, I would have LOVED to be sitting in the CC Louisville GM's office when the News/Talk 103.1 bit started.

It sounded very plausible as they were using the same music beds and statements that they use on their News/Talker in Dayton.

And the same people as well. That is exactly what the Cox News/Talker in Dayton sounds like in the mornings. (Except the female voice was Rachel Murray from the PM drive slot.) And they have live people in the newsroom until 11pm every night and on weekends. It's run quite differently than WHAS, because WHIO in Dayton actually takes it's news committment seriously.

It would have been interesting.
