I've had a number of calls about it. They say it will happen at 3pm today.

Why would they do that just to compete with 4 other signals?

and N/T is an extremely expensive format...

Only if it's local host 24/7. If it's network, it's barter.

What's on 103.9 now? Hope there's a great airstaff tied to this sucker!

I can't believe Cox would dump the oldies format (although it's no great loss listen to WAKY 103.5) to run 2 country stations.

The old newcountry1039 website directs you to the new 103.1 site. I'm too far out to hear 103.9, but if it's still running country, it probably won't for long. The smart money says they'll put the old 103.1 format on 103.9.

I'm sending a resume as we speak....I'm ready to be back in Louisville

FCC web site 103.1 is WQNU Lyndon.... 103.9 is WRKA Louisville.

We'll see if 103.9 stays gold only as Country gold?

Country Gold would be great! But, I'll bet it wouldn't go past the late 70's.

Yep that would be me...I'm on the air doing afternoons in Myrtle Beach right now but would love to be back in louisville though

AMEN...That pair belong on Louisville radio.

I managed to nuke WRBI/Batesville on 103.9 and the same song is playing on 103.1 & 103.9. WAKY should be shoutin' fer joy!

..I wonder if my fave, Johnny Randolph sounds 20 years younger, today??? I always root for the underdog, and this could give them the to the 'left' side of Oldies, if 103.9 were to go to a gold type of format.. Better to be on the left, than the right in a close range of each other (only an opinoin in marketing)... But they should really take advantage of a major gold outlet dumping out and play up their heritage calls with the fact that they are 'Still here...And still rockin' the oldies on 103.5/W.A.K.Y!'

I think they changed formats to country because the 103.1 signal is now covering a wider rural area of the market.
