Maybe lightning only attacks 95.1 stations with fire bombs. LOL. Actually, I've been victim to this on three occasions at 95.1 WAYV Atlantic City when it had a Jampro antenna with radomes over a 10 year period. An eyewitness saw the lightning hit the tower on one of those occasions and watched the "tower" burst into flames. It was actually the radome. The bay was OK.
Since WAYV went to a non-radomed ERI seven years ago, it hasn't happened since.
The Empire State Building does get hit frequently, but has no radomed FM antennas.
I will never again buy a radomed antenna for mounting near the top of a tower.
