WRKL New City, NY today (3/13) filed with the FCC a request for silent authority. But according to the filing, they only went off the air as of March 8, due to a “heavy rainstorm resulting in water rising and incapacitating the station’s transmitter.”
Except that the date specified was a day without any precipitation whatsoever.
The station has been off the air since mid-December. Today’s filing requests silent authority for 120 days, and says they’ve already purchased a replacement transmitter which is awaiting installation.
