The "Save WRKO" website's URL is no longer active and may be deleted. WRKO is apparently beyond salvation. The Radio Equalizer blog is still up.

board Brian had. He still does have the Radio Equalizer blog and the link he has to "Boston/New
England Talk Radio", i.e., Save WRKO, now leads you to a placeholder page. He did indeed stop
doing posts around April and we got to about 700 comments on that last one. SaveWRKO started in Jan of '07 when 'RKO hired Finneran.
It should be noted that right after prog talk (the commercial type, not the taxpayer funded type)
was dumped in Boston, the first of two yahoo groups to "Save Prog Talk Boston" (and a website)
tried to get libtalk (the commercial type) back on in Boston, and they succeeded with brokered
time WWZN. The second of the yahoo groups is still around, I think.
WRKO, or "WEEI-2" as they sometimes turn out to be (BC basketball! NFL playoffs! MLB playoffs!
no room on 850? air it on 680) still puts out talk radio, long after the likes of Williams,
Brudnoy, Burns. etc have left and I can't picture Entercom abandoning talk--at least not till
'12 when Howie can (maybe?) leave.
Getting to the domain name thing: when you reach the time of "expired pending renewal or
deletion" be aware many domain name registrars will allow you to start it up again--but the price goes WAY up. I'm not holding my breath. SaveWRKO.com could well wind up as a placeholder
page with a bunch of ads. Look what happens when you try:

They're hoping CBS will spend big bucks for it, I guess.
There also was/is a Facebook group for "Bring Back Folk and Blues to WGBH". They haven't
been convinced, but one Net effort to get Steve Leveille back on WBZ (plus mail and
phone calls) did get him his job back.

Exactly. The problem is that Maloney is now reduced to railing against talk show hosts that no one listens to anyway. It's useful to remember where the genuinely ugly vitriol comes from, but it doesn't make for an entertaining read on a daily basis.FightingIrish said:Maloney long rooted for Air America's demise, and since it went away, he has no foil. He became irrelevant. It's basically a Rosie O'Donnell attack site, and really, isn't that like making fun of the handicapped? Please.

He sounded like he was doing a Rush Limbaugh impression and read directly from The Mass Family Institute talking points when discussing the Marriage Equality debate. When he was not hired he put up the SaveWRKO page.
I don't miss the site at all. Most of the comments like Maloney's material were sophomoric
