WRKO FIRES FREE "800" CALL IN PHONE LINES

They (Sox) might do well on 1430* but the signal's weak at night if you move away from Boston...680 a better signal. And 830 is pretty
impressive--I was in southern NH and also on I-495 (Haverhill, Merrimac, etc.) and it was coming in very
well (daytime)--and they should improve at night soon. 680 and 830 (WCRN) should cover a a half-decent area. Wonder if WBOQ 104.9 will continue with Sox net?

*--if, say, Clear Channel were to be Sox flagship and they put it on 1430, they'd probably wind up
simulcasting on 107.9 anyway! "Sox-108"

>>a technical issue

Howie explained that it was. There have been similar times, like once when there was an outage in
Brighton area (manhole fire or something) and that resulted in phone problems.

When the gay bashing Howie Carr and the anti-Democratic agenda of Entercom go down the same time the Republicans get swept out of office, it is a GREAT day in Boston.

You're right, they go too far sometimes with the gay bashing. Rather than do away with the whole station, though, I'd rather see it bounce back as a clearinghouse for clear talk from all sides of the spectrum -- left, right, somewhere in the middle. Extremism on any side is never good.

Phones seem to be back.

ERNESTINE THE TELEPHONE OPERATOR: You see, this phone system consists of a multi-billion dollar matrix of space age technology that is so sophisticated - that even we can't handle it, but that's your problem, isn't it? So the next time you complain about your phone service why don't you try using two Dixie cups with a string. We don't care; we don't have to. We're the phone company.
