Sorry to hear that. Tom was at WROR when I was at WRKO. Seemed like a good guy then. He is also the nephew of "Johnny" of "Johnny and the Harmonicats" famous on the Ed Sullivan Show

Tom is a class act. A smart and decent man. I wish him the best in the future.

Tom was always nice to me, and actually let me play for a day on WRKO. Two days later, he's out.

I'm really sorry Tom.

I know he's going to be fine.

This is probably just the beginning of the shake up at WRKO. Anyone think DePetro will be around by the winter book. Neanderpol, get your tape ready.

I've heard the rumors as well. I'm in the building and nothing's being said inside. Those rumors are perpetuated from outside. That being said, I'm no fan of DePetro's hate-radio style. So, I don't listen. If that becomes a norm amongst the Boston radio audience, I'm sure he'll be gone.

I only have one aircheck, and the guy who'd have been responsible for hiring me's gone :)

Unfortunately, once Julie Kahn came on the Entercom Boston scene, it wasn't a matter of if, but when Tom Baker would be pushed aside. File this one under "good guys don't neccesarily finish first". Best of luck Tom, you're a class act.

Cost-cutting move... at a station that has done pretty well in the ratings.
Sad.

Possibility (unlikely but who knows): 99.7 in Prov. launches as FM Talk and
Indy Man heads home, as part of their new lineup. Glenn Beck added to 'RKO.
Who knows.
