WRKO lineup mystery

Freddy, Velma, Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby Doo are driving The Mystery Machine over to Guest Street
to try to untangle this latest mystery. (And I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for you
meddling kids!)

I went to the WRKO "Program Schedule" page and found that it now says To Be Announced from 5-6 am (had been
reruns of shows), 9-noon (DePetro's old slot), and now 7-10 pm as well! (With Savage listed at 10 pm) Todd
Feinburg is still listed as doing a show on weekends (his nationally syndicated one). When you go to
the links on the left you'll see Feinburg listed as a talk host under Howie Carr, but when you click
the link his page comes up and it simply says he's on weekends (not daily).

Speculation time: now that Tom Finneran may be available (said to be pleading guilty to perjury charges
and will serve no jail time, just pay a fine and be under probation) is it possible he's headed to
that morning slot? DePetro's site says a "big announcement is coming"--am guessing he's headed
to 'HJJ in Providence, but would 'RKO actually be bringing him back? (In related news, Donald
Trump is marrying Rosie O'Donnell and Red Sox bleacher seats are being marked down to $2 each...)

What about Glenn Beck or Stephanie Miller in that 9 am slot? Is Jerry Doyle being added to nights
or not?

I'd love to hear Stephanie again.. I need my morning fix of "right wing world," the "lying sack of crap" and "You are an idiot" jingles and the Flinstones' music bed that is her "fun facts" music...

Just a small note here, I've been hearing Doug Stephan on WRKO from 5:00am-6:00am this week so far. Don't know if this is permanent or just something to get rid of re-runs. Howie was bashing Felon Finneran (his words) today, so if Finneran does end up on WRKO will there be peace in the family?

The mystery is this: Why are there so many posts about... WRKO?

Because things are in play right now, that's why.... Once they announce the new line-up everyone will expend some energy telling us why they (mostly) don't like the decisions, and then things will move on.

And, I thought you may be interested to know that the Todd Feinburg page on the 'RKO website now says:

Todd Feinburg
Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Saturday - Sunday: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

http://www.wrko.com/showdj.asp?djid=20270

Earlier today it only listed the Sat-Sun schedule.

And, the program schedule lists him. http://www.wrko.com/programming.asp

You heard it here.

Hey Finn, good stuff. but he won't be 9-12 permanent right?

That means Maryellen Burns not on Saturdays 1-4, back to Feinberg. Interesting.

Someone told me Ted (from ted and ellen show) signed off weekends last week........

(In related news, Donald
Trump is marrying Rosie O'Donnell and Red Sox bleacher seats are being marked down to $2 each...)

Now THAT's entertainment. That was funny. I'm confused by what the ScoobyDoo team has going on...are you saying RKO is gearing up for big annouoncement or that Todd F. is booked on the 9-12.
?

ok last one for a while--i tried to start new post -- was told it belongs here...

who has good info....?

if this belongs in RKO/Herald thread apologies to moderator.
i want to cover a few topics here.

RKO offered Eagen Braude separate gigs? WHO SAYS? THEM?
i noticed Valv often has good info. here but I can't believe them offering eagen her own show. no way.

then, finneran? that' s just nuts. i don't get it. i believe it, but i don't get it.

WHAT IS GOING ON OVER THERE?

meanwhile, regarding libberal yakkers: what about ellen from ted&ellen on saturdays? i know this because i heard her go after some callers pretty hard on middle east stuff. that sounded pretty liberal to me! she voted for the devil, whoops, deval guy.

finally, why is barnicle still on air?

thank you one and all, i read but don't post often and try to stay away from the threads where it's just depetro tooting his own horn.

This was reported in the article racoon posted earlier today on the thread: Herald: Deval's regular gig on Eagan and Braude

This was also reported recently.

Yes, Ellen is liberal, Ted is conservative.  He voted for Muffy.

My take is:

  • Feinburg is the new permanent (as defined in this business) 9-12 host,
  • Michael Savage will air 7-9 live and 9-10 syndicated when the Celtics, Red Sox and Boston College teams are not playing,
  • the 6-9 slot is still Scott Allen Miller unless they come to an agreement with Finneran, in which case Miller goes back to the midwest somewhere and is happy since he'll actually be able to afford to buy a house,

I would have thought they would look for new programming on Sat/Sun 1-4, now that Feinburg has the morning slot.  However, if Ted has actually pulled out of the weekend show, they may keep Feinburg's syndicated show until they sort out the 10-1 slot.

WOW

so you mean 'permanent' until a big announcement? or that IS the big announcement?

*now i understand your morning scotto/finneran theory-so he would be in the old blute spot--makes sense. i'd have figured they would pair him up with someone but maybe it's too pricey.
**re: savage. that's strange. so TKK goes local and live and they run Savage?
***finally, i didn't hear ted waymen on saturdays sign off. my friend who listens did and he said it seemed like ellen was staying..?

p.s. i still don't see confirmation from anyone on the record saying RKO offered eagen her own show. but I guess only she and RKO could do that. i don't think they'd ever split up. i hear they are a couple.

most important, there is no talk of the news team returning???? the news is really bad now.

I will be reading the paper to see if there is a press release about Feinburg tomorrow.  Since they updated the website, it would be kind of weird not to announce it.

But, I would think the BIG announcement would be if there was a Finneran deal. It's hard for me to imagine that Finneran would be interested in sharing the time with Scotto from Indiana. I think it's one or the other.

Savage for now.  Maybe they'll fill with local hosts later, but I think they feel like they don't have anyone they want to use for now.  The Pundit Review guys filled in a lot over the holidays, but it doesn't look like they will be picking up those hours long term.

Savage and Doyle may not be local or live but most nights WRKO will be live and local (unless the teams are
on the road!) with...Sox and Celtics. (btw, heard B's gave up _9_ consecutive goals to M. Leafs
tonight?!? :) )

>>new programming on Sat/Sun 1-4, now that Feinburg has the morning slot.

They might carry BOTH Feinburg shows...and have been. Remember the weekend shows are
Feinburg's national edition, and the 9-noon (or 7-10 p) shows were WRKO only. And if
WRKO were to get rid of Feinburg's daily show, who's to say they might still keep
the national version?

Finn: yup, looks like Feinburg has that 9-noon show all right. And if you go to the Program Schedule page it's confirmed (and it looks like they'll still have his weekend show too: Todd 7 days a week). Though they need to
fix the menu on the left: it lists the hosts (Scott Allen Miller, Rush Limbaugh, Howie Carr, Todd Feinburg,
etc. IN THAT ORDER--by rights it should say Miller, Feinburg, Limbaugh, etc.--and now we need to find out
if Finneran gets the morning gig).

The Finneran plea deal is schedule for this (Fri) morning (Howie C, soon to be his colleague? says he'll
be at the courthouse)

I don't understand why Scott Allen Miller can't bear to do a fourth hour, like every other major and large market AMD host that starts at FIVE AM.
